India
With a history measured in millennia and a population of more than a billion people, India has a very rich and diverse culture. The regions differ so vastly from one another, that India has more than 15 official languages! You could visit India multiple times and come away with a new experience every time.
On your visit, travel to Jodhpur in the northwest of India. Jodhpur is the second largest city in the state of Rajasthan and a wonderful city to visit. While in Jodhpur, take a cooking class at the famous Spice Paradise and learn more about the complex spices in northern Indian cuisine. Additionally, a trip to the Meherangarh Fort is a must for visitors. The fortress stands 400 feet above the city of Jodhpur and is hundreds of years old. Walk through any of the seven gates, all showing signs of the history endured, to enter the fortress. Inside, explore the exhibits of one of the best stocked museums in Rajasthan. Outside, behold the gorgeous views of the city below.
If you're looking for a beach experience, explore the coastal area of Goa. While Goa is one of the smallest provinces in India, it has a brilliant history, rich with little-known Portuguese colonial influence. While there, visit the multitude of gorgeous beaches in Goa, such as the Agonda Beach and Mandrem Beach, which lie along the coast of the Arabian Sea. From the beaches, visit Old Goa to see firsthand the Portuguese history in the region. Stand next to the statue of Vasco de Gama and visit the ancient cathedrals that are scattered throughout the city. The combination of Goan culture and Portuguese influence creates a beautiful experience for anyone who visits the city.
