Vail & Breckenridge
Breckenridge
Whether you’re an avid skier or a vacationer looking to check out one of Colorado’s most scenic areas, Breckenridge is a great option for a vacation.
Those looking to take advantage of peak ski season should plan to visit between November and April, when temperatures range between 37-44 degrees. Visitors looking to avoid the high tourist traffic in the winter should visit between May and October for great hiking. Temperatures range from 54 to 71 degrees on average during this time.
It is best to explore Main Street in the heart of Breckenridge on foot or by taking a ride on the trolley. If you’re looking to explore more attractions outside of town – such as Boreas Pass Road – it is recommended that you either rent a car or use the local taxi services. There is a bus service that runs between town to the Breckenridge Ski Resort. When visiting in the summer months, it is best to explore by bicycle, which you can either rent or bring yourself!
Vail
There is no shortage of activities for any type of traveler in Vail, whether you identify yourself as a bargain-hunter, adventure enthusiast, or if you are visiting with family. There are fun events happening year-round, so you can always find something to do no matter when you visit! The most popular time to visit is between December and March when the temperatures average in the 20s and 30s, which is optimal for winter sports. If you’re looking for comfortable outdoor temperatures for activities such as hiking and bicycling, June through September is the best time to visit to enjoy temperatures in the 70s.
There is a bus service that runs through town to help visitors attend the many events occurring throughout the year, as well as to get to and from nearby resorts. Looking to have fun without breaking the bank? There are many possible options for visitors on a budget, including: yoga in the park, cookies at Beaver Creek, hiking and camping, and wandering through a farmer’s market.
