Inland Massachusetts
Massachusetts is the heart of New England, and while the coast is a top tourist attraction, inland Massachusetts has a unique beauty of its own. Whether you’re up in the Berkshires or down in the cranberry country, there’s something to do for everyone in Massachusetts.
Start your trip in the Berkshires along the western border of the state. The Appalachian Trail winds through these mountains, which have a multitude of gorgeous sights to see and things to do. As the birthplace of the American Revolution, the commonwealth of Massachusetts is rife with history. To see some of the rich history firsthand, visit the Hancock Shaker Village to experience the living history museum. The Berkshires are also well known for the arts. Stop by the Norman Rockwell Museum or Tanglewood for a wonderful cultural experience. A trip to the Berkshires would not be complete without an adventure outdoors. Visit Mount Greylock State Reservation and hike the Pleasant Valley Sanctuary to take in the fresh air and vistas. To the east, you can experience the history of the American Revolution in everything you see. Make a trip to Concord. See where it all began with the "shot heard 'round the world" at the North Bridge. Tour Minute Man National Historical Park, Battle Road Trail, and the Orchard House. The town is steeped in history and you can see it all in Concord. Afterward, head to the state's fabled shores and stay at one of our resorts in coastal Massachusetts.
