Arkansas

Arkansas is best-known for its diverse terrain, including mountains, caves, hot springs, and rivers. Arkansas also enjoys varied physiographic regions, from the Ozark Plateaus of the north to the West Gulf Coastal Plain to the south.
Start in Mountain View at Blanchard Springs Cavern, a living underground cave located in the Ozark National Forest. Learn from knowledgeable Forest Service Guides on one of four unique tours: the Dripstone Trail, the Discovery Trail, the Discovery in the Dark Headlamp Tour, and the Wild Cave Tour. The trails vary in intensity, however they all afford participants the opportunity to experience the beauty of the caves, winding through water-carved passages and an underground river.
Trek back to the surface and take a trip through Mount Magazine State Park, home to Arkansas highest peak, Mount Magazine. If you’re feeling adventurous, hike the trails, rock climb, repel, horseback ride, and even hang glide! If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground you can sightsee at your leisure, or join a park interpreter for a guided tour.
Once you’ve had your fill of nature, venture into Arkansas’ capital, Little Rock, and check out the Clinton Presidential Center. The center is the presidential library of former U.S. president and Arkansas native son, Bill Clinton. Situated on 17 acres and complete with a museum and archives, the Center is a great place to explore and learn about our 42nd president.
